From teaching research skills in the Electronic Learning Fundamentals class to teaching students about Ancient Egypt in the Neuroscience and Food class, Upper School Assistant Librarian Jenny Cashman has enriched the student experience at Poly over the past two years.
Upper School Librarian Nora Murphy shared, “Cashman has layers of hidden expertise and knowledge. With each conversation I have with her, I keep learning new things from her that I would have otherwise never known.”
Cashman regularly meets one-on-one with students to help them with research papers, guiding them tirelessly through the library databases. She also chaperoned the freshmen Outdoor Education trip to Catalina Island this year, teaching students about archaeology. Freshman Sabreen El-Amin, an attendee of the trip, described her experience with Cashman: “She has so much passion for archaeology which makes her very engaging and interesting.”
After Cashman departs Poly, she plans to start a freelance business, teach archaeology lessons and work as an education consultant. A lover of nature, she plans on moving from Los Angeles to Oregon later this year.
We will miss Cashman’s kindhearted and energetic spirit and wish her the best of luck on her journey through the next chapter of her life.
