The Mango Dragonfruit refresher is going to be the top drink this summer because it’s the perfect blend of sweet and tangy. The sweetness of the mango and the tartness of the lemonade go together like two peas in a pod. Plus the bright pink drink and refreshing taste is totally Instagram worthy and radiate the colors of summer.
Ice Spice collabs
2023’s hottest new artist? Ice Spice. Unlike any other, she dominated the drill scene. While Taylor x Ice maybe wasn’t the technical masterpiece, it was camp. This summer will be the summer of CAMP. The iconic duo is serving in the stadium and they will continue to serve this summer.
VSCO
VSCO has been through so many ups and downs. Founded in 2011, the app really took an upturn in late 2018 with the rise of the “VSCO girl” aesthetic. The aesthetic is based on scrunchies, beach trips, Hydroflasks, string friendship bracelets and, of course, the VSCO app; all which are essentials to a summery aesthetic. As of now, VSCO is taking some beauty sleep, and this summer is going to be its Prince Charming.
Athleisure as a fashion choice
I apologize if I offend any Lululemon girlies here, but this needs to be addressed. Athleisure is for sporty activities, not for a fashion choice. We are long past the days of throwing on biker shorts and graphic sweater and calling it a good outfit.
The clean girl aesthetic
It needs to be acknowledged that the clean girl aesthetic is not healthy. The unhealthy eating habits and the ideal body type associated with this aesthetic can be both mentally and physically harmful. Trust me, search up clean girl aesthetic on Pinterest, and you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about. Being clean and eating smart is healthy, but disordered eating to reach the idealized body type is not.
Branded clothing hauls
We get it. You want a new wardrobe with new clothes, but buying 20 new tank tops is not necessary. It’s time to say goodbye to extravagant fast fashion choices. Go thrift! Then you can get some sustainable, unique and plentiful new summer outfits while causing less harm to the planet and to your wallet.
Creating your own podcast
Look, it’s been years since quarantine. Self-made podcasts made sense then but not anymore. In all honesty, we’re high schoolers! We don’t have the most outstanding and revolutionary ideas yet. So, to avoid controversy, hold off on the podcast.
