Through this comic, I wanted to express what I (and many teenagers) feel when reading the news or observing current events. Each day often brings more bad news: AI replacing jobs, heightened political tensions and environmental crises. After absorbing this information, the spud feels depressed and hopeless, lowering itself into the ground as if giving up. However, this moment of rest turns out to be crucial, enabling the spud to emerge from the soil as a new form of life. To me, the spud represents the importance of rest as a survival strategy during difficult times.
