New Assistant Head of School Trixie Sabundayo brings extensive academic and teaching experience to Poly.
A Johns Hopkins graduate majoring in English and minoring in Women’s Studies, Sabundayo earned a master’s in Education from Middlebury College before she began her career as an English teacher and coach. Her early experience began at schools in Baltimore and Oakland before she started her first full-time job at Isidore Newman School in New Orleans. She then spent nearly 15 years at Marin Academy in the Bay Area, serving as English Department Chair, Grade Level Dean, and the school’s first Dean of Equity and Inclusion. Most recently, she held leadership positions at Princeton Day School in New Jersey and Shady Side Academy in Pittsburgh.
In her first year at Poly Sabundayo hopes to shadow students, listen to their perspectives, and celebrate the ways the community lives its mission. “I am most excited to get to know the student body,” she shared.
Outside of school, she enjoys running, traveling, yoga, and spending time with her family.
