Filled with live music, food, slime and Pin-the-Mic-on-Drake, the Poly Arts Student Council (PASC) hosted their annual Pascapalooza at Babcock Field on Saturday, Oct. 14.

Pascapalooza, inspired by Coachella, began in 2019 when a senior PASC member Cole Swanson ‘19, proposed the idea of an art and music festival to welcome everyone back to the school year. Sophomore Catherine McFarlane, a PASC member, shared, “Pascapalooza is just an outlet for students to share their identities as artists and ultimately promote the arts at Poly.”

While music ensembles and soloists performed on Babcock Field, attendees snacked on quesadillas sold by Las Monarcas, Poly’s Latina affinity group, and baked goods sold by the Black Student Union.

“PASC tackled this as an art version of the Fall Tailgate by divvying up duties like making flyers, managing bands, food vendors and more,” shared Cynthia Crass, Upper School Performing Arts teacher and 10th Grade Dean and Coordinator.

“You get to see talented aspects of your classmates that you might not have known that they had before,” said sophomore Sophie Ankeles, a PASC member who performed a piano piece at the event. “You never know who’s going to perform, so you should always just come and support your friends!”
