Baseball requires athleticism, grit and mental fortitude, and throughout his time playing the sport at Poly, Elliott Rowley displayed all those qualities and more. As the team’s ace, Rowley pitched a 2.17 earned run average while striking out 63 batters, leading the Prep League in both categories. Rowley capped off his Poly career in spectacular fashion, hitting a walk-off double to crown the Panthers as Prep League champions. Rowley noted that this season was some of the most fun he’s had playing baseball, making him even more excited for the road ahead. Although his time in Poly has ended, Rowley looks forward to a promising future in baseball, as next fall, he’ll be going to Macalester College to play NCAA Division III baseball. Off the diamond, Rowley plans to double major in history and economics. We wish him well!
